Health Care Assistant, Ward 6 - South Regional Heart & Lung Unit
Location: Wellington Regional Hospital
Contract: Permanent, Part Time 0.5 FTE Rostered and Rotating

About the Role
As a health care assistant in 6 South, you will provide assistance to the health care team, by focusing on the patient’s comfort and performing delegated patient care duties, including completing personal cares and service activities as required. Service activities can include but are not limited to assisting in minor surgical tasks, safety and stock checks.
About the Team/Service/Location
Ward 6 South is a busy cardiac unit that provides tertiary cardiac services for the central NZ region. The team cares for patients across both cardiology and cardiothoracic specialties. You will be supported by a committed and focused nursing management team incorporating a Charge Nurse Manager, Associate Charge Nurse Managers, and Clinical Nurse Educators.
About you
- A Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Good oral and written English and interpersonal communication skills;
- Basic keyboard skills
- Effective time management skills.
Essential Professional Qualifications/Accreditations/Registrations:
- Level 3 NZQA National Certificate in Community Support Services (or equivalent qualification).
OR
- Student Nurse enrolled in a Bachelor of Nursing Degree Programme who has completed the first year of the three-year programme.
