Service:    Clinical Coding, Non-Clinical Support and Delivery, Corporate

Contract:  Permanent, full-time

Salary:  $57,291 to $63,630

Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

We are seeking an administration superstar - someone proactive, highly motivated, competent and organised to join our Clinical Coding team as a Clinical Coding Administration Assistant. This role will provide comprehensive administration support to our Clinical Coding team who provide a timely and accurate clinical coding function for Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora. This is a fast paced and agile position, suiting someone who can take ownership of the role, learn quickly and think on their feet. Communication and attention to detail is essential in order to succeed in this position. 

The base location of this role will be at Wellington Regional Hospital but you may be required to work at Hutt Valley or Kenepuru Hospital on occasion.

Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our team

You will be working alongside a passionate and dedicated team of clinical coders processing approximately 75,000 inpatient events per annum.  Our team are committed to meeting reporting deadlines whilst providing excellent quality coding, therefore it is very important to us that our administration assistant works with us to achieve our targets. The right candidate will have a proven history of commitment to team work, using their initiative, amazing communication skills and being proactive. 

Moū – About you

Skills and experience we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in health administration or records management experience would be advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism and good rapport with stakeholders
  • High level of English comprehension with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft office and excel
  • Flexible, proactive and adaptable
