Contract:  Permanent, Part-time (Thursday/Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm)

Salary: $65,627 - $70,024 (pro-rated)

Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

Our service is looking for a part-time Administrator to join our team working 2 days a week. We are looking for an accurate typist with strong administrative skills who is a great team player. You will be able to undertake administrative duties in a professional and confident manner with a “can do” attitude.

A key responsibility of this position is to provide administrative support to the Team Leader and team members, to achieve the goals and objectives of their operational area. The support you provide will enable the delivery of administrative services that will assist team members to provide a safe, quality service that is in line with best practice and service specifications.

Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our team

You will be working as part of a diverse team, made up of both clinical and non-clinical staff, who are passionate about enabling our services to provide the best care to our communities.

The forensic community teams are multidisciplinary-based with their principal role being the provision ofmental health services to all prisons (there are 6 prisons and a third of New Zealand’s total prison population in the Central Region) and courts (there are 17 court systems) in the region.  These teams also follow up in the community with certain tangata whaiora/consumers that transition from the inpatient units.  The Central Regional Forensic Service also is involved with the Youth Court providing a Court Liaison Service and completing specialist psychological or psychiatric assessments ordered by the Court through Children Young Persons & Family Act, 1989 (Section 333).

Our ideal candidate would be someone who is able to adapt and make the role their own.  You will be able to develop and maintain systems, and ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard. Other skills and attributes for this role we are looking for:

  • Ideally would have experience in dictation/winscribe typing with a high level of accuracy.
  • A level of initiative and good sense to provide administrative and managerial support
  • An enthusiastic, can-do attitude
  • Proficiency with office applications and have an aptitude for learning new software and systems
  • A high level of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism
  • A healthy sense of humor and a genuine desire to help others
