About the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and professional Receptionist/Administrator with passion, resilience, and commitment to join our dynamic kāhui, supporting both the Wellington Central and South Community Mental Health Teams.

This is a varied, fast-paced front-desk role where you'll be at the forefront of all tangata whaiora, whānau, and visitor interactions. A warm, approachable, and calm manner is essential. You'll be someone who thrives on multitasking, takes initiative, and delivers high levels of accuracy and service excellence, even under pressure.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Welcoming tangata whaiora, whānau, and visitors in person and by phone
  • Processing referrals and maintaining accurate records
  • Booking and confirming appointments for clinicians and keeping calendars up to date
  • Coordinating fleet vehicle usage, servicing, and maintenance
  • Managing incoming/outgoing mail and courier deliveries
  • Ordering and monitoring office supplies and stock levels
  • Providing general administrative support including photocopying, filing, and data entry

We have a full-time and part-time (20 hours per week) role available, both 12 months fixed-term. The salary range for this position is $72,035 - $75,050 pro-rated.

About our team:

You’ll be joining a close-knit kāhui of five administrators who support two busy, multidisciplinary community mental health teams. We pride ourselves on collaboration, open communication, and delivering high-quality work in a supportive and inclusive environment.

The Wellington Central and South Community Mental Health Teams provide assessment and treatment for adults aged 18+ experiencing moderate to severe mental health challenges. Our shared goal is to support tangata whaiora to lead healthy, fulfilling lives through recovery-focused care.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for the role, along with resilience, and a strong sense of commitment
  • Previous experience in a front-line, customer-facing role (desirable)
