Advanced Physiotherapist (Orthopaedics)

Location: Wellington Regional Hospital, Kenepuru Coommunity Hospital, Hutt Hospital
Contract: Fixed term contract (Parental leave backfill through to 11 August), Full Time

About the Role
This role is appropriate for an experienced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist (MSK PT) wanting to gain experience in advanced practise within the Orthopaedic Physiotherapy field. One of our team is on 6 months parental leave, which has created this fixed term vacancy. This is a dual role. The Orthopaedic aspect will work as part of the CCHV district Advanced Clinical Practise Physiotherapist (ACPP) clinicians whilst also connecting with ACPP clinicians across the wider Health New Zealand National MSK Pathway network. The MSK PT aspect will work closely with the wider CCHV Outpatient Hand therapy, MSK Physiotherapy and ACPP (Orthopaedics) team across the district
About the Team/Service/Location
This role will be primarily based in Wellington, though may need to cover other CCHV sites and off site clinics as needed. This is a high performing team that is welcoming and passionate about utilising best practise to look after our District’s people in the musculoskeletal arena. The ACPP (Ortho) sub team assists in management of the Orthopaedic wait lists, but also the MSK PT waitlists. The role will have access to the national Ortho ACPP learning and development network to develop and maintain clinical competency in the area of advanced practice.
About you
You will be an experienced MSK PT ideally with experience in the public health system, who is knowledgeable in Orthopaedic/MSK assessment and treatment. You will be someone who has completed postgraduate training in the MSK and Pain arena’s. You will be a self starter who can shift gears comfortably and can read situations quickly. You will be confident in supporting the excellent work that our team has developed over the last few years. You will be comfortable in your own abilities to be able to work well with physiotherapists working in advanced scope of practise alongside the Orthopaedic surgical team. Minimum of 5 years clinical practice (with at least 2 years working as a physiotherapist in relevant area of practice).
- Demonstrated specialist clinical skills in Orthopaedic physiotherapy.
- NZ Registered Physiotherapist with current annual practicing certificate.
- Appropriate post graduate qualification (or working towards).
