Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced physiotherapist to join our Outpatient Physiotherapy and Hand Therapy team at Te Whatu Ora, Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley.  This role is part of planned care and innovation work we are undertaking in conjunction with our Orthopaedic Department. This position may work at various sites across the district as part of our district wide approach to this work. 

The physiotherapist in this role will work alongside the Expert and other advanced orthopaedic physiotherapists in triaging referrals into the Orthopaedic service, undertaking early assessment and intervention with patients, and refer on appropriately. They will work closely with colleagues from the Orthopaedic Department to develop skills and knowledge, and will participate in regular Registrar teaching.  The Physiotherapist will mentor and support rotational staff and undergraduate students to support the development of clinical skills. The wider outpatient physiotherapy team includes physiotherapists working in hemophilia, hand therapy, pelvic health, and respiratory physiotherapy, alongside musculoskeletal.

Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our team

Our outpatient physiotherapy team includes physiotherapists working in musculoskeletal, hand therapy, pelvic health, haemophilia and respiratory physiotherapy.  This role will work alongside experienced musculoskeletal clinicians and may include the opportunity to support student placements. We are a highly skilled, highly experienced and motivated team. We are forward thinking and proactive around the development of our services and roles and aim to make our work as enjoyable and effective for ourselves and our consumers, as possible.

Moū – About you

You will be an experienced, NZ registered Physiotherapist with at least 6 years of clinical practice, a current APC and experience in MSK outpatients or a related clinical area. You  are  motivated, organized and a collaborative team player with specialist knowledge and skills to manage complex presentations. You will contribute knowledge and skills to the clinical specialty and across the continuum of health care, with the aim of improving patient/client care and outcomes
