Allied Health Professional Leader - Dietetics
Location: Multiple sites across the Capital Coast & Hutt Valley District
Contract: Permanent, Part Time (0.4FTE)

About the Role
Are you an experienced Dietitian passionate about advancing professional practice, inspiring others, and driving meaningful change? This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key clinical leadership role where you will influence the quality, safety, and future direction of Dietetics across Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley.
As the Dietetics Professional Leader, you will champion clinical excellence and professional standards, providing strategic leadership and governance for Dietetic services working across physical health settings. You will play a pivotal role in strengthening workforce capability, fostering outcomes-focused practice, and supporting innovation and integration across services to meet organisational priorities and improve health outcomes for our communities.
This is a varied and rewarding role, offering the opportunity to work alongside clinicians and leaders across multiple sites throughout the district. No two days are the same as you balance professional leadership, service development, workforce growth, and strategic influence.

About the Team, Service and Location
You will join a highly collaborative and supportive collective of Professional Leaders representing Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Dietetics, Speech Language Therapy, and Psychology. Together, you provide professional and clinical leadership across district services, settings, and sites as part of the Chief Allied Health, Scientific & Technical Office.
The Dietetics Professional Leader partners closely with operational and clinical leaders to support a shared district-wide vision for Allied Health. The role works from multiple locations across the District, supporting dietitians working from multiple and varied clinical settings and sites.
About you
- Qualification that ensures registration with the Dietitians Board of New Zealand and hold a current annual practicing certificate
- Demonstrated strategic leadership skills (or potential) including experience of leading, motivating and developing others, cross-systems thinking, and leading for clinical excellence.
- Expectation of at least 6 years practice working in a health or other relevant setting.
- Advanced clinical experience and knowledge. Desirable for this to be across a range of settings (e.g. hospital and community).
- A current full NZ driver’s licence with ability to drive a manual and automatic car
