Allied Professions Lead - Hauora Māori

Location: This role will be based across Wellington Regional Hospital and Hutt Hospital and on occasion will be required to support activity across different locations in the Wellington region.

Contract:  Permanent, Part Time (28 hours per week / 0.7 FTE)

Salary:  Allied Scientific and Technical Pay Equity Settlement 2023: Designated scale

Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

We have an exciting leadership opportunity for a Māori Allied, Scientific or Technical health professional to come and join our Allied Professions Leadership team working across Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley.

This is a permanent, part-time role (24-28 hours per week), that would suit an experienced Māori Allied, Scientific or Technical clinician who has a strong grounding in te ao Māori and tikanga, and is motivated to support our services and allied professionals to develop pro-equity approaches to service delivery that meets the needs of Māori and their whanau.

A key priority will be leading a work programme that focuses on growing our Māori Allied Professions kaimahi to enable it to be representative of our communities and support the development of cultural capability across the Allied Professions. 

This senior leadership role will report to the Chief Allied Professions Officer and also have a reporting line through to the General Manager Māori Provider Services.  The role will be based across Wellington Regional Hospital and Hutt Hospital and on occasion will be required to support activity at different Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District locations.

You will be joining a friendly, fun and enthusiastic team from a mix of professions.  You will work closely with a range of Allied Profession leadership roles and teams, our Māori Provider Services, Mana Whenua of this rohe and a number of other key roles such as Recruitment and our Kia Ora Hauora Programme providers.  Cultural support and supervision and professional development opportunities will be provided to enable you to be successful in this role and to support your continued development.

This is an opportunity for an Allied, Scientific or Technical health professional where the Te Ao Māori skills and knowledge you hold will be highly valued and recognised.  You will need the ability to communicate with and influence a wide range of audiences and create connections to empower, enable and drive kaupapa Māori capability and competence initiatives.   

This role will work well for an individual wanting to take on a new opportunity alongside clinical hours or for individuals looking to work part-time.  (For interested people wanting to do this alongside clinical work, we can support coordinating this).
