Anaesthetic Technician / ODP


Location: Wellington and Kenepuru Hospitals

Contract: Fixed Term, 12 months Full Time, Rostered & Rotating

Salary: Step 1 ($77,087) to Step 7 ($107,600)

About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced, trained Anaesthetic Technician to join our multi-disciplinary team of at providing support for elective and emergency surgical services at Wellington and Kenepuru hospital. 

As an Anaesthetic Technician, you will assist with

  • providing a safe patient experience throughout our facilities
  • preparing the environment for the safe administration of anaesthesia wherever it is required
  • providing skilled assistance to the Anaesthetist during induction, maintenance & emergence stages of anaesthesia.

About the Team/Service/ Location 

The Anaesthetic Technician team has around 45 people work across either the Wellington Regional (Newtown) or the Kenepuru Hospital (Porirua), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  We work in a wide variety of specialties including cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, vascular, paediatrics and interventional. 

We are a supportive team and committed to the professional growth of our staff, providing on-going training and development.

About you 

  • Vocational training that enables registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand as an Anaesthetic Technician and be eligible to hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate 
  • Is patient focused and able to provide consistently high standards of care
  • Has good technical skills and knowledge
  • Enjoys a challenge, and can adapt easily to dynamic situations
  • Good communication

Please note this is a fixed term position and we will only consider applicants already residing in New Zealand.
