Associate Charge Nurse Manager – District Diabetes and Endocrine Service


Location:  Role works across the District, so expected to work at Wellington Regional, Kenepuru and Hutt Hospitals, with occasional visits to the Kapiti Health Centre. 

Contract: Permanent, Part Time 0.5 FTE

About the Role 

The ACNM in the Diabetes and Endocrine Service is responsible for assisting with day to day management of the service, implementing quality improvement projects, assisting with the management of people, systems and processes all while ensuring quality patient care is at the centre. 

The outcomes of the role are to improve the health and well-being of patient and whānau, in an environment that promotes excellence in diabetes and endocrine care and education, inspiring staff to reach their full potential.

About the Team/Service Location 

The District Diabetes and Endocrine Service provides specialist care targeting assessment and complex clinical management of high risk individuals impacted by diabetes and endocrine problems across the lifespan. The team supports primary providers by offering consultation and advice to manage complex cases. Services are delivered over four locations: Hutt Valley Hospital, Kāpiti Health Centre, Kenepuru Hospital, and Wellington Regional Hospital.

About you 

  • Current New Zealand Annual practising certificate
  • Has completed, or is working towards completion of, up to section 10 of the National Diabetes Nursing Knowledge and Skills Framework
  • RN Expert or Senior on PDRP
  • At least 5 years of senior nursing experience, with management or quality improvement experience preferred
  • Post graduate education, or working towards
