Associate Charge Nurse Manager - Health of the Older Person Kenepuru
Location: Kenepuru, Ward 4 + 5 Health of the older person
Contract: 8 Months Fixed term, 32hrs 0.8FTE August 2025 to April 2026

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an associate charge nurse manager fixed term cover for parental leave in our health of the older person wards 4 & 5. We are looking for a candidate with strong focus on teamwork and a commitment to excellent standards of nursing care, flexible and dynamic ACNM to join our team. This role will rotate through AM and PM shifts Monday to Sunday.
The Associate Charge Nurse Manager (ACNM) position is responsible for assisting with the effective management of Ward. The ACNM will do this by working with the Charge Nurse Manager (CNM) to assist with managing and leading the people, systems, processes and resources that facilitate clinically safe, efficient and effective service delivery across the Health of the older person wards.
The ACNM will assist to provide clinical and professional leadership to the team, developing the nursing service, ensuring quality standards are met and contributing to the strategic direction for Ward.
The outcomes of the role are to improve the health and well-being of patient and whānau, in an environment that promotes excellence in Ward 4 + 5 care and education, inspiring staff to reach their full potential.
The ACNM will respond to the District’s changing needs, performing other tasks as required. The ACNM is expected to contribute to implementing District initiatives and nursing goals and values, while promoting Te Whatu Ora Capital Coast and Hutt Valley as a centre of excellence for nursing practice. The salary range for this role is Senior Designated Nurses Grade 2 $110,360 – $121,399 depending on experience - pro rata.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The ORA inpatient service is provided on the Kenepuru campus and is currently configured with 24 beds in Ward 4, 24 beds in Ward 5 Health of the older person. Health of the older person provides specialised assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services for older people.
This role will work from our Health of the older person wards (HOP)
About you
- Passionate about Gerontology and vulnerable patient groups
- Strong communication skills
- Resilient
- Current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate
- Experience in Medical and Gerontology nursing, extensive nursing experience and knowledge
- Adult and contemporary learning techniques
- Relevant post-graduate qualification or study
- Desirable – NZRC qualification/instructor accreditation
- High quality care for the patient/client/whanau
