About the Role

Interventional Radiology encompasses the Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Laboratories (IRCL) and an associated ward area, known as the Interventional Radiology Unit (IRU). 

The Associate Charge Nurse Manager (ACNM) role is a management and clinical leadership role to support the Charge Nurse Manager (CNM). This includes shared responsibility for team and professional development ensuring ever higher levels of safe and competent practice – this includes staff rostering, human resource processes, and annual performance reviews (as delegated). This role requires an organisational understanding, alongside service and specialty knowledge. The ACNM provides leadership and day-to-day clinical coordination to ensure the provision of high quality health care within the service.

The role combines practice and service knowledge with skills that include providing direct patient care as required. Practice development and supporting change implementation is an important aspect of this role. The role will also focus on effective use of resources and ensuring equipment is available for complex cases by liaising with medical product representatives. As a member of the Senior Nursing Team the ACNM will work with the Nurse Educator to contribute to clinical expertise, supporting staff in complex cases for both elective and emergent acute cases with the aim of improving patient outcomes and care

  • Current extensive experience working in an Interventional Radiology / Cardiology practice setting and working at expert level on the PDRP.
  • Advanced clinical knowledge and leadership skills
  • Commitment to safe and high quality nursing practice.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
  • Confidence working independently and in multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to build strong working relationships
  • Hold a relevant Post Graduate qualification
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate
