Cancer Service Manager


Location: Wellington Regional Hospital 

Contract: Permanent, full-time

About the Role 

The Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley (CCHV) District has an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to lead our Cancer, Specialist Medicine and Community Provider Services team. This is a full-time role leading and managing delivery of effective, high-quality services to meet organisational requirements for Cancer Services both locally and regionally. The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000. Areas of focus for this role will include:

  • Reducing inequities
  • Coordination of the Multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Shorter wait time for Diagnostic and Treatment Services
  • Cancer Care Coordination initiatives.

About the Team/Service Location 

The District Cancer Service Manager will provide leadership in a multidisciplinary environment and is supported by the Operations Manager and Clinical Leader, working alongside them to drive service goals and ensure that organisational objectives are met. Teams within the Cancer Service include:

  • Blood and Cancer Centre Clinical Trials Research
  • The Mosaiq Pharmacist and Business Analyst
  • The Faster Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist
  • Multidisciplinary team meeting coordinator
  • The Faster Cancer Tracker

About you 

We are looking for someone who has a global interest in changes across cancer treatments, and the future vision to model a robust cancer service. The successful candidate will have a patient-focused approach to care, be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, have excellent communication skills, and be committed to the values and goals of CCHV. Passion or invested interest in Cancer Research and Cancer Treatment Services is essential. You must have NZ Citizenship or a NZ Work Visa (be eligible for).
