Charge Nurse Manager - Outpatients
Location: Wellington Regional Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital
Contract: Permanent, Fulltime

About the Role
There is an exciting opportunity to become the next Charge Nurse Manager (CNM) of the Wellington and Kenepuru outpatient service. The successful person will be responsible for the effective management of the Outpatient Department. The CNM will do this through managing and leading the people, systems, processes and resources that facilitate clinically safe, efficient and effective service delivery across the Outpatient Department.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Wellington and Kenepuru Outpatients Service provides a facility to support the delivery of a range of specialist outpatient clinics at Wellington and Kenepuru hospitals. These are specialist consultant clinics with registrar support, allied health clinics, nurse-led clinics and technician clinics.
The service provides active management of clinics to maximise their utilisation and ensures that expert nursing and clerical resources are used efficiently to enhance the delivery of services to patients.
About you
The successful candidate for this role will be an experienced senior nurse with proven leadership skills, who relishes change and has the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Understands the significance and obligations of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and supports leadership of these within the service
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of NZ Health System including equity issues, professional leadership and emerging issues for the nursing profession
- Proven Leadership and management capability
- Minimum 4 years nursing experience
- Experience in leading quality improvement and change initiatives
- Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring policies, audits, protocols and guidelines
- Proficiency in computer skills
Essential Professional Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with current APC and appropriate scope
- Postgraduate Diploma desired, expected to work towards Master’s Degree
- Attainment and maintenance of senior PDRP
