Clinical Dietitian – Critical Care

Location: Wellington Regional Hospital

Contract: Fixed-term (until 31 December 2027), Part Time (0.8 FTE / 32 hours per week)

About the Role 

You will be a key, valued member of the Critical Care multidisciplinary team, managing both adult and Paediatric patients across ICU, HDU and transitioning to wards.  There is the potential to participate in and lead service improvement, resource development and other innovative practice. In addition to practicing primarily within critical care, you will also provide a general clinical service to the inpatient wards as required. This role does not include overnight shifts, but once appropriate competencies have been completed, it would include participation in our weekend on call roster.

This role is primarily based at Wellington Regional Hospital, but may work from other locations as the service requires.

Working with a diverse group of patients with significant health needs, you’ll demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills and have a flexible, problem solving approach. You will have the ability to quickly build strong working relationships with patients, whānau and the wider multidisciplinary team and have excellent time management and prioritisation skills. You will:

• Have at least three years dietetic practice, some of which will be in critical care. 
• Have excellent communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with local service providers and stakeholders. 
• Have experience working with Māori & Pacific populations (desirable) 

Professional Accreditations: 

• NZ Registered Dietitian with current annual practicing certificate with prescribing endorsement. (essential). 
• Member of Dietitians New Zealand – Professional Association and Special Interest Group. (desirable)
