Clinical Midwife Manager (CMM) Community Services


Location: Wellington Regional Hospital

Contract: Permanent, Full Time 1.0 FTE Rostered and Rotating

About the Role 

You will be joining a highly experienced team who provide midwifery and community support services to women/ parents and their whānau. The Clinical Midwife Manager role is a critical leadership and management role that supports the Midwife Manager and the daily management of the community services. 

About the Team/Service

The Primary Care Initiatives team and Community Midwifery teams provide community maternity services which include supporting people through early pregnancy loss, newborn hearing screening, lactation support, Pacific/Māori breastfeeding advocate services, and antenatal and postnatal midwifery care. You will help to support the Midwife Manager with clinical, professional midwifery leadership and management to help facilitate effective and safe day to day operations. 

About you 

  • Current Midwifery APC 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a midwife with a comprehensive knowledge of the New Zealand Maternity system
  • Strong communication, relationship management and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative approach to service delivery
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within maternity services, with the ability to support and co-ordinate multi-disciplinary teams in a clinical and community environment
  • Effective time management, strategic thinking and ability work autonomously
