Clinical Nurse Specialist – Medical Oncology
Location: Wellington Regional Hospital
Contract: Permanent 1.0 FTE

About the Role
The Medical Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) role is to provide leadership and expert knowledge across the clinical environment to medical oncology patients throughout Capital Coast hospital setting, community and primary care environments. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist you will be crucial in providing advanced nursing care, education and leading quality improvement initiatives.
A key responsibility of the role is the coordination of complex medical oncology patients, liaising with whanau and other healthcare providers to ensure patients receive a high standard of care.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist works within the multi-disciplinary team in both the inpatient and outpatient environments with the aim of improving patient outcomes with a focus on equitable access and care. This includes supporting medical oncology clinics and ward rounds on a regular basis.
About the Team/Service Location
The Wellington Blood & Cancer Centre (WBCC) incorporates the specialties of Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Clinical Haematology into an integrated regional and supra-regional cancer service for both inpatients and outpatients. Services provided in the WBCC include specialist consultation and treatment for referred Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Haematology patients either in Wellington or outreach clinics.
The WBCC team is a hardworking, friendly and supportive team who are passionate about providing a high level of care to patients accessing oncology, haematology and radiation services.

- Post graduate nursing qualification or working towards this
