About this role

We are looking for a senior nurse to join the Vascular team in the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist to develop and pilot an intermittent claudication patient pathway (lower limb). 

The Vascular CNS is a clinical expert who uses advanced nursing knowledge and skills to provide direct patient care and to influence other members of the team to provide high quality clinical care and equitable health outcomes. 

The successful applicant will develop an intermitted claudication treatment pathway over the 1-year pilot and will work with the vascular team in the outpatient clinic setting, undertake nurse led clinics and create guidelines and protocols for patient management.  The salary for this position is Grade 2 of the Senior Nurses Scale of the NZNO MECA.

  • You will provide clinical expertise and leadership in the management of patients in this clinical setting. 
  • You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and an ability to negotiate with key stakeholders in a busy and dynamic environment.
  • If you have expert specialty knowledge, have a relevant post-graduate qualification (diploma) and are working towards a clinical Masters in Nursing this position may suit your career pathway.  We look forward to your application.
