Clinical Typist/Team Support (Kaipato Taurima Tūroro)

  • Salary: $51,586 to $60,868, based on experience

The clinical typists provide a vital service to patients, families/whanau and health professionals. Your high level of attention to detail will ensure the accurate and timely transformation of incoming dictation from the clinical areas into formal letters, so that information is available to others involved in a patient’s care, when it is needed. 

As a clinical typist, you will navigate relationships within the administration service, as well as with clinicians serving various departments throughout the hospital.

DUTIES 

  • Transcribe dictation from clinicians
  • Manage the processing of clinical documents
  • Communicate with staff both clinical and non-clinical
  • Other general administration duties

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • A high standard of written English (comprehension, punctuation, spelling and grammar).
  • A high level of attention to detail at all times
  • Previous typing/transcription experience
  • A positive, ‘can do’ attitude
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
