Location: Kapiti Health Centre 

Contract: Permanent, Part Time (0.7FTE / 28 hours per week, Monday – Friday)

Salary: $39,908 - $49,904 pro rata

ABOUT THE ROLE 

We’re looking for an expereinced, enthusiastic person who is able to motivate others and provide top notch allied health support to people living in the Kapiti area. 

The person  in these role will be taking on activities delegated by Allied Health professionals including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Speech Language Therapists, Dietitians and our specialist Nurses. 

You’ll be providing rehabilitation and therapy to patients in their own homes, outpatients and other community settings in order to help the person maximise their ability to manage their health and impact of age and disability. The successful applicant will have a busy and  varied day, working across a range of settings and with a varity of people. This position is in a friendly and supportive team. If you are physically fit, hardworking, reliable and keen to learn, it may be the role for you.

DUTIES 

  • Support patients with their rehabilitation and therapy in their own homes or community setting
  • Assist Allied Health Professional working with patients in groups or one to one 
  • Deliver and set up equipment in patients homes

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Good communication skills verbal and written 
  • Good organisational skills and able to work alone with patients in their own homes 
  • Experience of working with in the health care setting
  • Team working and can do attitude
  • Hold of National Certificate in Community Support (level 3) Core Competencies or  National Certificate  in Health, Disability and Aged Support  (level 3) (Health Assistants – Rehabilitation Assistance or Health Assistance strand) or equivalent (or willingness to complete one of these qualifications
