Consultant Geriatrician (fixed term)


Location:  Kenepuru Hospital, Wellington Hospital

Service:    Older Adults Rehabilitation & Allied (ORA) services 

Contract:  Fixed Term over 3 months (starting August 2026). Part time (0.2 to 0.4 FTE)

Salary:      As per ASMS SECA

About the role

Older Adults Rehabilitation & Allied (ORA) services have an opportunity for a Geriatrician to join our team based at Kenepuru on a fixed term basis to cover sabbatical leave. In this rewarding role you will work within our Health of Older Persons services to optimise health outcomes for complex older adults within the inpatient and outpatient setting. This role is suitable for an experienced geriatrician.

About the Team

The Older Persons and Rehabilitation Team provide services in Wellington Hospital, Kenepuru Hospital and the community. Our geriatricians work across a range of settings including consults, admission under geriatrics or rehabilitation to our inpatient wards along with outpatients and home visits.  You will work closely with other specialties and multidisciplinary teams who are motivated to make a difference for older adults. You will be part of a wider Geriatric and Rehabilitation service providing specialist care across the District.

About you

  • Vocationally registered in internal medicine (Geriatrics) with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)\
  • FRACP or equivalent qualification
  • Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
  • Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care
  • Relevant experience and training
