Consultant Otolaryngologist (Fixed term)
Location: Wellington Regional Hospital, Kenepuru Hospital and Hutt Hospital, outreach to Wairarapa Hospital
Service: Otolaryngology (Ears, Nose and Throat - ENT) Service
Contract: Fixed term (July 2026 - November 2026), part time/full time

About the role
The ENT service is looking for a General Otolaryngologist to cover a 4 -5 month gap from July 2026 to November 2026. The position is ideally up to full time 1 FTE.
This is for adult and paediatric services.
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated team player and will enjoy avery collegial relationship. The role is based at Wellington Regional Hospital,however the successful candidate will be expected to work across the greater Wellington region in line with the sub-regional ENT service.
The position will involve a range of acute and elective general ORL surgery.
Some undergraduate teaching is expected as well as supervision and teaching of registrars in the otolaryngology training rotation.
About the Team
The department currently consists of nine general and subspecialist surgeons who provide a wide range of service to the greater Wellington region and tertiary level care for the wider region.
These include general otolaryngology, rhinology and anterior skull base surgery,otology, lateral skull base and cochlear implantation, paediatric otolaryngology and head and neck surgery. We work in close collaboration with oncology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, paediatric and neurosurgery services. Suitable candidates will have opportunities for research.
About you
- Vocationally registered in Otolaryngology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- FRACS or equivalent qualification and eligible for MCNZ registration
- Fellowship sub-specialty trained in otology
- Collaborative and team-focused approach within a multidisciplinary environment
- Participation in relevant service and clinical meetings
- Relevant clinical experience and training
