Health Care Assistant, Delivery Suite

We're looking for Health Care Assistants to join our relief pool “The Bureau” on a casual basis to work in our Delivery Suite. If you’re looking for a pathway into one of Capital and Coast District Health Board’s two hospitals, Wellington Regional Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital then we’d like to hear from you. 

You’ll be working in our Delivery Suite where you will provide assistance to the health care team with non-nursing/midwifery tasks. You’ll support the delivery of services for patients and families under the direct supervision of the registered nurse/midwife. DUTIES 

  • Preparing and Cleaning of equipment and rooms
  • Housekeeping Activities
  • Kitchen Duties
  • Some administration duties  eg: filing, photocopying etc

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 3), Health Assistance, or equivalent qualification eg National Certificate in Health, Disability & Aged Support (Level 3).
  • Has completed the first year of the three year Bachelor of Nursing or Midwifery Programme.
  • Active participant in quality improvement
  • Professional, punctual and motivated
  • Effective communicator
