Health Care Assistant - Orthopaedic Clinic
Location: Wellington Orthopaedics Outpatients Department, Wellington Regional Hospital and Kenepuru
Contract: Permanent Full Time 1.0 FTE

About the Role
As a Health Care Assistant, we offer you the opportunity to join our motivated and dedicated team in the Orthopaedic Outpatient Clinics. The role is based in the Wellington Orthopaedic Clinic, Te Wao Nui and Kenepuru Outpatients department.
The Health Care Assistant works closely with a committed group of nurses that have a passion for Orthopaedic Nursing with a focus on the art of plaster/cast application and wound care. The Health Care Assistant also works with medical, clinical, administrative and allied health care teams to support patient care and orthopaedic clinic functions. We can see up to 20,000 people each year.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Orthopaedic Clinic is part of the Orthopaedics Service, providing treatment of injuries, fractures and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. The Orthopaedic Clinics at Wellington and Kenepuru are open from Monday to Friday, 0800 – 1630 excluding weekends and public holidays, and see up to 20,000 people each year.
About you
The successful applicant will have a friendly caring manner, and enthusiasm for working in a team. You are motivated to learn and contribute to the Orthopaedic Clinic and work alongside the inter-disciplinary team to meet patient and service needs
The ideal candidate will have:
- Health & Wellbeing (Level 3) Qualification OR enrolled in the Health & Wellbeing course
- Good communication skills - written and verbal
- Administration and organisational skills
- Full New Zealand Drivers Licence
- Current NZ Work visa
- Orthopaedic or Outpatient Health Care Assistant experience is desired but not essential
