Health Care Assistant - Transit Lounge


Location:  Wellington Regional Hospital

Contract: Permanent, 1 FTE Rostered and Rotating

About the Role 

As a Health Care Assistant, we can offer you the opportunity to join our highly motived and professional team in the Transit Lounge at Wellington Regional Hospital. You will work within the nursing team under the direction and delegation of a Registered Nurse. There are your own responsibilities regarding patient care and supporting the team with stock management and prompt bed turnaround.

About the Team/Service Location 

Transit Lounge is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week unit which aims to facilitate Hospital Flow via accommodating anticipated discharging and transferring patients from acute ward areas.  Transit Lounge accommodates clinic assessments and day case procedures. Our service supports open, honest, communication and dynamic professional development of all team members. We are a small but dynamic group of dedicated staff who are client focused. 

About you 

  • NZQA level three or working towards 
  • The ability to work under direction and delegation of the Registered Nurse 
  • Adaptable to the changing work flow
  • Excellent communication skills
