Healthcare Assistant Interventional Radiology & Cardiology Service
Location: Wellington Regional Hospital
Contract: Permanent, Fulltime 1.0 FTE Rostered and Rotating

About the Role
In this role your key focus will be to help with patient flow through our procedure rooms, assist nursing staff between cases, restocking of clinical supplies, maintaining a clean environment to a high standard and supporting the effective day-to-day running of the clinical environment. This role involves less direct patient care than most Healthcare Assistant positions and the work environment is similar to Operating Theatre. The working hours for the role are 8 hour shifts between 0730 – 2000 hours Monday – Friday.
To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for being organised and efficient in your approach to work, enjoy multi-tasking and working at pace, and be a team player. You will also be empathetic, have good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to relate to people of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds.
DUTIES
- Assisting nursing staff with patient flow between procedures
- Maintaining oversight of clinical supplies and restocking as needed
- Maintaining a clean environment to a high standard
- Delegated patient care activities within the scope of the role description
- Cleaning & care of clinical equipment
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our team provides Interventional Radiology & Cardiology Services – both acute and elective – to local and regional patients. The work we do includes diagnostic & interventional procedures such as angiography, putting stents in arteries & treating patients who present with heart attacks or strokes.

About you
- Previous experience working in an acute health care environment is preferred
- NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 3) Health Assistance, or equivalent or working towards this.
