Salary:    $72,074 - $107,600 pro-rata

About the role

We have an opportunity for a Whaea/Kaumatua, who is able to provide in depth guidance, advice, strategic direction and support at clinical and cultural levels within Forensic and rehabilitation services, Te Korowai Whariki, MHAIDS, in a role that reflects Te Ao Maori. This is a part time position covers both the Forensic and Rehabilitation based on the Ratonga Rua campus, Porirua

About our team

Te Korowai Whariki is part of the Mental Health Addictions and Intellectual Disability Service, MHAIDS. Te Korowai Whariki covers the Central Region from Tairawhiti on the East Coast across to Whanganui and south to Wellington and Wairarapa. The service encompasses Central Region Forensic Inpatient and community services, Youth Forensic service and Inpatient Rehabilitation and Extended Care Services.

About you

Our ideal applicant will be a highly motivated Maori cultural leader. Positive attributes include a knowledge of Tikanga, maintaining the Kawa and Kaupapa of the service and provide guidance to mental health services on issues relating to Tikanga Maori.  You would also be a proficient speaker of Te Reo Maori, the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team. You can provide evidence of fostering good relationships, leadership and decision making with the ability to motivate and influence the practice of others.
