Lymphoedema Therapist or Registered Nurse
Location: District wide
Contract: Permanent, Part Time (0.6 FTE / 24 hours per week)

About the Role
A new exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Allied Health Professional or Registered Nurse to join our team and support the delivery of a comprehensive Lymphoedema Service for patients with secondary (cancer-related) Lymphoedema.
Working alongside an experienced Expert Physiotherapist, and in collaboration with Oncology, Surgical, and Community Nursing Services, you will play a key role in providing high-quality, evidence-based care to support patients in managing their Lymphoedema and improving their quality of life.
This role is primarily clinical, involving the assessment, treatment, and education of patients with Lymphoedema, as well as providing advice and support to other health professionals involved in their care. You will contribute to ensuring care pathways are coordinated and patient-centred, with a strong focus on achieving equitable outcomes across our population.
As part of a developing service, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing improvements and initiatives led by the Expert Physiotherapist, helping to shape a responsive and sustainable model of care.

About the Team/Service Location
This role is based within our Allied Health Outpatient Team – a diverse group of Allied Health Professionals working across Wellington, Kenepuru, Kāpiti and Hutt Valley committed to improving equitable health outcomes in their clients.
In addition to relationships within the Allied Health service this role will work in partnership with other key stakeholders including Oncology, Surgical Services and District Nursing services to support high quality clinical practice, agreed patient pathways and practice guidelines.
You will also have professional support from the relevant Professional Leader for your profession.
About you
- Registered Professional: You are a registered Allied Health Professional or Registered Nurse with a current APC.
- Clinical Expertise: You bring knowledge of, or an ability to develop clinical skills in Lymphoedema management, with well-developed clinical reasoning and a strong focus on patient care and best practice guidelines.
- Qualification: You hold or are willing to work towards a Level 2 Lymphoedema Management qualification (Australasian Lymphology Association–recognised) within your first year.
- Collaborative & Motivated: You’re a self-starter who enjoys working collaboratively, contributing ideas, and helping shape best practice alongside an experienced Specialist Physiotherapist.
- Equity & Quality Focused: You value high-quality, equitable care, contribute to service improvement and education, and take pride in making a difference for patients and whānau.
