Mātanga Tapuhi Nurse Practitioner - Central Region Eating Disorder Service (CREDS)

About the role

This exciting new role within CREDS will focus on early intervention for people with eating disorders and strengthen the ability of each Central Region district to enhance outcomes for this cohort. It will support primary care clinicians and other community health providers to apply timely, best practise assessment and intervention to alter the trajectory of those with eating disorders and to minimise the impact of their illness. 

About the Team/Service/ Location 

CREDS provides specialist assessment and treatment services to those impacted by eating disorders in the Central Region of New Zealand. In accordance with best practise clinical guidelines it offers a comprehensive range of treatment services from nutritional counselling, outpatient individual and family therapy, psychiatry and psycho-social education through to a 6-bed Residential Programme and a 7am-7pm therapeutic Day Programme. This exciting role will be based within the close-knit and supportive CREDS multi-disciplinary team, working collaboratively with its many partner agencies across the lower North Island in a range of primary care and community settings.

The Central Region Eating Disorder Service (CREDS) is looking for a dynamic and energetic Nurse Practitioner to join our unique multi-disciplinary team. You must have:

  • Clinical Masters including NP required practicum (60 credits).
  • Current Mātanga Tapuhi NP Annual Practising Certificate with recent relevant clinical experience.
  • Mātanga Tapuhi NP registration with NCNZ and ongoing evidence that your continuing competence requirements managed directly with NCNZ every three years are maintained.
  • Appropriate technical skills/Certification/Credentials/Endorsements e.g. Authorisation for Responsible, clinician by Director of Area Mental Health Services (DAMHS).
