Nau mai, haere mai ki Ūpoko ki te uru hauora

Location: Wellington Regional Hospital

Contract: Monday to Friday - Business hours (8 hours per day, shifts cover 7am – 5pm)

Salary: $95,241 - $110,624 per annum

Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

We are looking for a dynamic qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in the Radiology Department at Wellington Hospital.

The Nuclear Medicine department has two dual head SPECT/CT gamma cameras (a Siemens Intevo with diagnostic CT and Phillips Brightview with low dose CT).  The Siemens Intevo is used as a diagnostic CT to support the Radiology CT department.

Radiopharmaceuticals are prepared on site, and we perform approximately 2500 procedures annually. Diagnostic procedures include skeletal, renal, cardiac, gastrointestinal, sentinel lymph node and tumour imaging.  We also perform therapeutic procedures including Iodine131 and Yittrium90.

This role is suitable for a dual scope MIT/NMT or a NMT with a CT enabling SOP.

If you are dedicated to the provision of patient focused, high quality imaging, consider applying for this role at Capital and Coast DHB.

Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our team

The Nuclear Medicine team at Wellington Hospital are experienced, friendly and keen to welcome the next generation of NMT’s to our profession.  We are members of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine https://www.anzsnm.org.au/ and enjoy collaborating with our colleagues both from within our district and across New Zealand.

We are supported and encouraged to attend CPD events, by presenting and as attendees.  In-house CPD mornings take place with the Radiology department, where cross-modality learning can take place.  With no shift work or on call service, the Nuclear Medicine team find the balance between work and life easy to maintain.  Daily shifts range from 7am to 5pm, great for an early finish, or a later start.  No two days are the same, the flexibility and variety of imaging and therapy that we provide makes for an interesting and satisfying work day.

Wellington is a cool place to live – great outdoors environment with coast and hills, and a world famous coffee and social scene.  Wellington Hospital is an easy bike ride from the surrounding suburbs, helping to encourage that work life balance.

We welcome you to consider joining our team, bringing world class Nuclear Medicine to our communities and the wider region.

Moū – About you

  • Current registration and APC with MRTB in NM SOP
  • It would be an advantage to have the MRTB CT enabling condition “Perform diagnostic CT’s independently” if NM SOP only
