Medical Typist
Location: Queens Drive, Lower Hutt
Contract: Permanent, Full Time

About the Role
The Medical Typist is responsible for delivering professional, timely and accurate transcription of clinical information as dictated by clinical staff through the Hutt Valley electronic dictation systems.
The Medical Typist works within the centralised typing team which provides a high-quality service to clinicians and patients, sharing the workload across services and contributing to on-going improvement of service delivery. REM is $67,943 - $77,141 (based on skills and experience)
Please note this not a hybrid position.
About the Team/Service Location
The Medical Typing Team transcribes approximately 300 hours of medical dictation each month across our hospital. We are required to turn the typing around in an accurate and timely manner, which requires teamwork and a “can do attitude”. You will be joining a diverse and dynamic team who enjoy what they do and offer support where they can.
About you
We are looking for someone who adopts a team approach and willingly assists others in times of high workload, absences or the need to urgently prioritise work. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience working in the health sector are preferred. Essential skills and experience we are looking for include:
- Experienced transcriptionist
- Capable of delivering a high volume of quality work
- Dictaphone typing experience
- High level of English literacy and excellent listening skills
- Prepared to and has the ability to pick up new web-based applications quickly
