Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Infant, Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health Service (ICAFS) in the Hutt Valley. We are looking for enthusiastic registered Mental Health Professionals (Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse or Psychologist) with experience working in child and adolescent mental health to join our service. There are positions available in both the Tautāwhi and Kaiārahi teams.

Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our team

ICAFS provides assessment and interventions for 0-18 year olds with moderate to severe mental health needs and their whanau. The service utilises the Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA) model of treatment and consists of two energetic multidisciplinary teams, Tautāwhi and Kaiārahi. At ICAFS we provide a range of individual, whanau and group based treatment, including full Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Family Therapy.

Tautāwhi is the ‘front door team’ for ICAFS, providing choice appointment initial assessments, brief interventions, consult liaison to the inpatient wards at Hutt Hospital and support at crisis assessments undertaken by the Crisis Resolution Service. Tautāwhi also provides longer term assessment and treatment.

Kaiārahi is the ‘partnership’ team for ICAFS, providing the majority of longer term treatment and extended assessment following initial assessment. There is much opportunity for co-working across the teams as part of specialised therapies and group treatments provided at the service. Ongoing training is supported and encouraged.
