MHAIDS Patient Information Officer

About the Role 

As our next Patient Information Officer, your key responsibility will be to provide support to the Clinicolegal Coordinator to respond to requests for information made pursuant to the Health Information Privacy Code 2020 and Official Information Act 1982 and to enable the delivery of clinicolegal services that will assist all MHAIDS staff to provide a safe, quality service that is in line with the best practice and service specifications.

The Patient Information Officer is also responsible for the effective and efficient provision of high-quality administrative services, with information required by other MHAID services being delivered in a timely and accurate manner. 

To allow for and sustain flexibility within the changing MHAIDS environment, and to meet contractual requirements, the Patient Information Officer from time to time will be required to undertake project work and other tasks as may be assigned. The role will work collaboratively across the MHAID Service.

This position is 20 hours per week. We offer flexibility in how these hours are arranged, with a preference for the hours to be worked across four or five days.

The salary band for this position is $76705 to $79925 (pro rata), depending on experience. 

About the Team/Service Location 

The role is based in the MHAIDS office on the Wellington Hospital Campus. The office is open plan, with the space shared by service managers, clinical leaders and administrators.

The Clinicolegal Team consists of the Clinicolegal Coordinator and the Patient Information Officer, both of whom work closely with MHAIDS Legal Counsel.

About you 

We are looking for someone who has experience working in roles where a high level of attention to detail is required. The ideal person will be methodical, well organised, and able to continuously prioritise their workload while managing multiple demands.

The role will be well suited to someone who can focus for long periods of time on one task but is also able to adapt when interrupted by a more pressing matter.

Excellent customer service skills are essential, as is the ability to be self-motivated, hardworking, and committed to delivering a high standard of work.
