Nurse Practitioner For Wellington South Community Mental Health

About the Role
The Mātanga TapuhiNurse Practitioner (NP) - Mental Health is an autonomous practitioner who works independently and collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT). The Mātanga Tapuhi NP role is integral to providing an individual and population-based approach to meet healthcare needs. This community-based role improves access to specialist assessment and coordinated treatment interventions for adult tangata whaiora experiencing moderate to severe mental health challenges. A key focus for this role will be leading intensive oversight during periods of increased need. This requires a flexible approach, to provide consultation, direct care and treatment, as well as support through clinical advice and education. The advanced practice role is integral to the provision and ongoing development of high-quality tangata whaiora care - that promotes optimal experience and equitable outcomes for tangata whaiora and their whānau.
This is a full-time role and we would consider job share or part time

About you
You will be a registered Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with proven experience in mental health settings and the ability to function autonomously in complex environments. You will also bring:
- Nurse Practitioner registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) with a prescribing endorsement in the mental health scope.
- Expertise in mental state assessment, differential diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and brief intervention models.
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equitable care, with demonstrated cultural safety and responsiveness.
- The ability to lead, coach and collaborate across disciplines and services.
- A strong personal commitment to clinical excellence, continuing professional development, and innovation.

We are looking for a recognised advanced practice nurse that has a passion for ongoing learning and the ability to adapt to work effectively with different learning experiences. You will need:
- Experience in Mental health nursing (minimum 3 years).
- Registered Nurse (RN) and a current practising certificate with no restrictions from the NCNZ.
- Expert level on the PDRP or Senior Expert pathway with at least three- four years relevant expertise and working at an advanced RN practice level.
- A Clinical Masters or the postgraduate courses to meet the requirements to undertake the NP postgraduate practicum aligning to the national Nurse Practitioner. Training Programme (NPTP).
- Please include your university transcript showing all Postgraduate Masters level courses.
