Are you a dynamic and compassionate Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment? Wellington Regional Hospital is seeking a motivated Occupational Therapist to join our ED/MAPU team, where early intervention and rapid assessment are key to improving patient outcomes.

About the Team/Service Location

As part of the ED/MAPU Allied Health team at Wellington Hospital, you will:

  • Deliver timely functional assessments and interventions for patients presenting acutely.
  • Work closely with medical, nursing, and allied health colleagues to support safe and effective discharge planning.
  • Provide clinical expertise in managing complex presentations, including frailty, cognitive impairment, and functional decline.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives in acute care.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the interface of emergency and acute medicine, where your skills will directly influence patient flow and recovery.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand and a current APC.
  • Has experience in acute hospital settings (preferred but not essential).
  • Demonstrates excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Is committed to culturally responsive care and equity, aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi
