Occupational Therapist – Tane Mahuta
Location: Intensive Rehabilitation Regional Rehabilitation Service- Tane Mahuta, Porirua.Contract: Permanent, Full Time (1 FTE). Monday - Friday

About the Role
Te Korowai Whāriki is part of the Mental Health Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service, 3 DHB. The Regional Rehabilitation units provide consumers with specialised care with a focus on recovery and rehabilitation in both secure and open settings. We are looking for an innovative and committed Occupational Therapist to join the inpatient team at Tane Mahuta. Tane Mahuta specialises in intensive rehabilitation in a 34 bed open inpatient setting with self-contained cottages adjacent to the main building. The Occupational Therapist are required to work collaboratively with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to support people as they transition from inpatient care to the community. The Occupational Therapist will offer specialised assessment and treatment for people with enduring mental illness.
• Working within MHAIDS they must actively reflect on their work and practice; they will work in ways that enhance the team to support the recovery of service users.
• Will have the ability to work using a person/family centred care, using current evidence to assist people to achieve their optimum health.
• Will demonstrate values consistent with those of the MHAIDS 3DHB and will be committed to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
About the Team/Service Location
Tane Mahuta has a supportive team culture that works hard to work collaboratively as an MDT in order to deliver best care within an inpatient setting. The immediate OT team is made up of 2 Occupational Therapists and 3 Occupational Therapy Support Workers (OTSW). This team is welcoming and accepting of new ideas.
About you
• Degree in Occupational Therapy or relevant tertiary occupational therapy qualification.
• New Zealand Registered Occupational Therapist and holder of current Annual Practicing Certificate.
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
