Outpatient Administrator

Location: Wellington Regional Hospital
Contract: 1 year fixed-term, part-time (0.5 FTE)
Salary: $70,970-$78,397 (pro-rated)

About the Role
We are seeking two Administrators to support a patient’s journey from referral to a District treatment provider, right through to discharge.
You will be responsible for ensuring quality, customer focused reception services are provided to our patients attending clinics or making phone enquiries. You will liaise with our clinical teams and strengthen clinical and non-clinical relationships to provide the very best patient journey.
Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the smooth running of our services, ensuring that booking protocols are followed and adhered to in order to keep waiting times to a minimum, reviewing the patient information recorded in our Patient Management System and following up with services for their patients who have missed appointments.
You will be rostered to work 20 hours per week, Monday - Friday, between the hours of 7:30am - 5:30pm.

The Outpatient Reception and Community teams provide high quality, efficient and effective administration support to our clinical teams within the Capital Coast & Hutt Valley District which enables them to focus on patient care.
About you
- Able to deal with ambiguity - is able to work in an environment of uncertainty; can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty
- Strong decision making skills.
- Good Microsoft Office Suite computer skills particularly excel
- Effective time management skills and ability to meet delivery of commitment.
- Able to work independently
- Self-motivated and self-aware
- Exposure in working with cultures other than their own
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate with members of the team or the public including those who are distressed or angry.
- Knowledge of the Privacy Act and other legislation protecting confidentiality
