Pacific Equity and Engagement Lead

About the Role 

The purpose of the Pacific Equity & Engagement Lead is to provide strategic and operational leadership to advance equity for Pacific Peoples across Mental Health, Addiction, and Intellectual Disability Services (MHAIDS).

In this role, you will champion culturally responsive practices, improve access and outcomes, and strengthen the Pacific health workforce. This is an exciting opportunity to influence a positive culture change in a large mental health service and serve as a vital connector between Pacific communities and the health system.

This is a full-time role mainly based at the BNZ Tower, Porirua, but work across our other hospital sites will be required. The full salary range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000.

About the Team/Service Location 

The Pacific Equity & Engagement Lead will be part of newly appointed team under the MHAIDS, Principal Advisor Pacific People. You will be joining a new and innovative team that will lead the integration of equity principles and values into how services are developed and delivered. Acknowledging that partnership and collaboration must be at its foundation for success. 

About you 

Skills and experience we are looking for:

  • Experience in providing equity input and advice at an operational and service delivery level with ability to plan and deliver effective analysis of health inequities. 
  • Experience in workforce development and/or community engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to influence strategy and drive systemic change 
  • Proven experience in Pacific Health leadership or equity-focused roles
  • Holds a full New Zealand driver’s license
