Paediatric Dietitian


Location: Wellington Regional Hospital, Te Wao Nui

Contract: Fixed-term (1 September 2025 - 23 October 2026), Part Time 0.6 FTE (24 hours per week)

About the Role 

Working as a key member of a small and supportive paediatric dietitian team, you will provide dietetic care to paediatric patients (aged 0-16 years). Ideally the role-holder will predominantly be working in areas of Paediatric general medicine, Eating disorders and NICU, however there is some flexibility in the caseload depending on the experience of the successful candidate. You will carry a diverse workload which will give the opportunity to work in both general and specialist paediatric areas, including cross cover to surgical and oncology wards. There could be an outpatient component, which could include general outpatients and cystic fibrosis MDT clinic.

The post-holder will be responsible for assessment and management of nutritional requirements of inpatients and outpatients within the Child Health Service. They will also support the wider dietetic team as clinical demand requires and support the ongoing development of the paediatric dietetic service, with opportunities to develop and be involved in specialty MDT teams.

You will be well supported by the dietetic team and will also be an integral part of the Child Health Service.  The paediatric dietitians at Capital & Coast are well respected and supported by the wider Child Health team including MDT colleagues, nurse specialists and medical staff.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated dietitian to join our fun and supportive team of dietitians at Wellington Regional Hospital. We are a group of 16 dietitians who work across inpatient and outpatient settings. We are a highly dedicated and patient-focused team of clinicians.
