Pharmacy Aseptic Production Unit Team Leader

We have a permanent, full-time position for a Pharmacy Aseptic Production Unit Team Leader.  This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiatic and motivated individual to lead a team of technicians and pharmacists in the Aspetic Production Unit.  The post-holder will be responsible for all activity of our aseptic service, providing a range of chemotherapy and other sterile items via our Aseptic Production Unit.  They will also have oversight and be responsible for the pharmacy clinical trials service.

The post-holder will be a key member of the Pharmacy Leadership Team and will work closely with the Operations Team Leader, Clinical Team Leader, Principal Technician and the Pharmacy Service Manager to plan and achieve the service’s vision and goals. 

This position would be suitable for an enthusiastic pharmacist or pharmacy technician with previous experience of aseptic preparation, good manufacturing practice (GMP) and quality assurance (QA).

There is also an operational component to this role – operational and team leader duties will be split approximately 50:50.  In the operational role you will clinical practice through alignment with recognised best practice and relevant policies, standards and practice guidelines.


  • Previous experience of aseptic preparation, good manufacturing practice (GMP) and quality assurance (QA) is required
  • Significant pharmaceutical / compounding experience, especially with cytotoxic medicines is essential
  • Must be a Registered Pharmacist in NZ or a Qualified Pharmacy Technician, or capable of achieving same
  • Must be eligible to work in NZ.
