Pharmacy Distribution Coordinator

About the Role 

We have an opportunity for an experienced, qualified Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Assistant with extensive hospital experience to work as a coordinator in our distribution area within pharmacy. This is a new position for our department and will be key in overseeing the day to day of workflow and tasks completed within the Pharmacy Distribution area, providing supervision to other staff working in this area and be responsible for the oversight of the pharmacy ward imprest service. This role will have delegated staff management responsibilities, such as staff appraisals, performance management, recruitment and rosters.

This position would be suitable for someone with significant hospital pharmacy experience (minimum 2 years), proven prioritisation and communication skills and the ability to manage their own workload and coordinate the workload of others. The successful applicant will be someone who has a passion for process and service improvement.

About the Team/Service Location 

The pharmacy team is well respected by clinicians, nursing staff, and senior management across the organisation, and is constantly looking at ways to improve the service and care it delivers.  We provide a comprehensive pharmacy service throughout to the Capital Coast and Hutt Valley District, which includes a clinical service, dispensary & logistics service, and a quality & risk service. There is also an aseptic production service at Capital & Coast Hospitals (Wellington & Kenepuru). Through these services, we aim to improve the quality and effectiveness of prescribing, supply and distribution of medicines throughout the Capital Coast and Hutt Valley District.  Our teams value professional growth, and emphasizes clinical development and medicines optimization for our patients.

About you 

All applicants must have at least 2 years’ experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting. Technicians must have the New Zealand Pharmacy Technician Level 5 Qualification or higher.
