Project and Change Manager

About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, Non-Clinical Support & Delivery, you will lead business, workforce and service-user change and improvement projects across the portfolio and wider district. You will manage initiatives of varying scale and complexity, including cross-service and high-risk assignments spanning operational continuity, workforce, contractors, technology, facilities and patient-facing support services. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will establish clear scope, governance and benefits measures; manage delivery, budgets, risks and dependencies; and support sustainable adoption into business as usual.
The salary range for this role is $116,110 - $174,166, depending on experience.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Non-Clinical Support & Delivery provides essential services that enable our hospitals and clinical teams to operate safely, reliably and effectively. Our diverse portfolio works across multiple sites and includes operational, contracted and patient-facing support services. You will join a collaborative, practical and improvement-focused team that values sound judgement, clear communication and strong relationships. We work closely with clinical, operational and enabling-service partners to solve complex problems and deliver measurable, sustainable improvements for patients, whānau and staff.
About you
- Substantial experience delivering complex projects and organisational change in a large, complex environment.
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience; recognised project, change or continuous-improvement certification is advantageous.
- Strong capability across scope, governance, budgets, procurement, suppliers, risk, benefits realisation and transition into business as usual.
- The ability to build trusted relationships, navigate competing interests, constructively challenge and negotiate, and communicate clearly at all levels.
- Strong analytical, process-mapping and documentation skills, sound judgement, commercial awareness, and a commitment to equity, safety and continuous improvement.
- Health-sector experience would be advantageous.
