Project Manager - Hospital & Speciality Services
Location: Wellington Regional Hospital
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (1.0 FTE)

About the Role
We are looking for three experienced Project Managers to join our team and lead critical improvement work across Hospital & Specialist Services.
As our next project manager, you will be responsible for the management of assigned projects and service development initiatives in accordance with a project management methodology to ensure project objectives and business needs are met. These roles have a focus on our Acute Flow Programme; a key priority focused on improving how patients move through the hospital system - from Emergency Department presentation to inpatient care and safe discharge into the community.
You will play a pivotal role in delivering against the Shorter Stays in Emergency Department (SSED) health target and implementing the Acute Flow Operational Standards, which set national expectations for:
- Patient-centred care that meets rights and needs
- Safe, high-quality clinical outcomes
- Strong quality assurance and system performance
- Equitable access and outcomes for all populations
- Embedding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading multiple high-impact projects that improve patient flow and service delivery
- Partnering with clinical and operational leaders from across the District to implement new models of care
- Driving measurable improvements in ED performance and hospital flow
- Building strong, collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams
- Embedding equity-focused approaches into service design and delivery
The salary band for this role is $104,179 - $130,223, depending on experience.
About the Team/Service Location
Reporting to the Acute Flow Programme Director, Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District, this role will provide project support for Hospital and Specialist Services group.
CCHV serves a population of 540,000 people with a team of approx. 10,000 staff and providing services to the community across several sites including Kapiti, Kenepuru, Porirua, Hutt Valley and Wellington, with Wellington Regional Hospital providing tertiary level services to the wider region. The Mental Health, Addictions and Intellectual Disability Services (MHAIDS) also sit within this group and provides local, regional and some national services.
