Radiology Quality Coordinator

About the Role 

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is committed to delivering equitable, high-quality healthcare across Aotearoa. We are seeking a proactive and experienced Medical Imaging Technologist (MIT) to join our Radiology team as Quality Coordinator for an 18-month fixed term opportunity.

This pivotal role supports the delivery of safe, effective, and patient and whanau-centered Radiology services across the Capital, Coast. You will lead quality assurance activities, coordinate internal and external audits (including IANZ and ORS compliance), and support continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with the Radiology Operations Manager, modality leads, and clinical teams, you will help ensure documentation standards, risk management, and service performance align with national health priorities and regulatory requirements.

You’ll also play a key role in supporting complaint resolution, reportable event reviews, and the development of a robust Radiology Quality Management System. This role is ideal for someone with strong clinical knowledge, auditing experience, and a passion for improving healthcare delivery through data-informed decision-making and collaborative leadership.

About the Team/Service Location 

You’ll be part of a high-performing, multi-disciplinary Radiology team based at Wellington and Kenepuru Hospitals, with connections across the wider CCHV district. The Radiology service provides a full range of diagnostic and interventional imaging, including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, and General Radiography.

The Capital Coast Radiology team is committed to continuous improvement, quality care, and collaborative working relationships. You’ll be supported by experienced clinicians, administrators, and analysts, and will play a key role in aligning Radiology operations with national health priorities such as:

  • Faster Cancer Treatment (FCT)
  • Shorter Emergency Department stays
  • Timely First Specialist Assessments (FSAs)
  • Elective treatment access

About you 

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Registered MIT or equivalent clinical qualification
  • Experience in diagnostic imaging and quality systems
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Familiarity with radiology IT systems and audit processes

Desirable

  • Experience in clinical coordination, informatics, or project/change management
