Registered Nurse - Anaesthesia Pre Assessment
Location: Wellington Hospital
Contract: Permanent Part Monday-Friday am shift only

About the Role
Anaesthesia Preassessment nurses manage anaesthesia assessments prior to patients’ surgeries. Assessments are either done by phone, or in person. The RN is responsible for collating a multitude of patient information prior to the patient’s surgery so that a safe assessment can be done by either the RN themselves and/or an anaesthesia doctor. The RNs work very closely with anaesthetists and the Elective Surgery service who book patients in for surgery.
About the Team/Service Location
Anaesthesia Preassessment is located in the Main Outpatients department of Wellington Hospital. We are a small team of 6 RNs that work part-time, full-time and casual. The Preassessment service also integrates a team of 6 Clinical Nurse Specialists.
About you
- Post-operative surgical experience preferred, and anaesthesia-related experience a bonus (e.g. PACU)
- Outpatient clinic experience beneficial
- Current APC
- Monday-Friday work, AM shift only available
