Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

Location: Wellington Hospital
Service: Intensive Care Unit
Contract: 12 hours shifts (rostered and rotating) Permanent full time and Permanent part time ( minimum 0.8 FTE)
Salary: NZNO Meca $86,519 - $106,370 (depending on experience) pro rata for part time
Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
We are looing for innovative, committed, forward thinking registered nurses to join the team in Intensive Care Services, Wellington Hospital. Our service encompasses all specialties including cardio-thoracic, neurosurgery and paediatrics. The staff nurse role will be for a permanent or fixed-term position covering 12hour rostered and rotating shifts and will either be full-time or part-time (minimum 0.8fte (32hrs per week). The successful applicants will commence between February 2025 and July 2025.
We have a strong commitment to nursing education and excellence in patient care. There are many opportunities to further your education and be part of a committed and innovative team. The Service offers support on the Professional Development Recognition Programme and progress towards a Masters degree. There is also the opportunity to train as a flight nurse within the busiest flight retrieval service in New Zealand.
Moū – About you
A background in critical care is desired however two years acute ward care nursing experience is a minimum requirement.

Skills & Experience
- Current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate
- Previous acute experience is essential
- Intensive care qualification desirable
