Registered Nurse - Internal Medicine (Ward 5 South)

ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered nurse for 5 South Ward, a 36 bed inpatient ward, with a High Dependency Bay in the Regional Hospital.
Internal medicine is the largest inpatient service and provides assessment, diagnosis, stabilisation and treatment, and rehabilitation of patients who present acutely for urgent medical diagnosis and treatment.
We offer services which include:
- Acute medical assessment and care
- Medical high dependency care
- Infectious Diseases: general and HIV medicine
- Diabetes, Endocrine, Dermatology and Rheumatology, Gastroenterology
- Health of older people
- Alcohol and drug detoxification
This role is a Parental leave cover from July 2018 working part time 0.9FTE on a rostered and rotating shifts.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will already have:
- At least 2 years post-graduate experience in any of the following areas: high dependency wards, intensive care unit, emergency department or critical care.
- NZ Nursing experience or comparable health system
- Ability to work in a team and sound knowledge of the principles of Direction and Delegation
- Current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Current NZ work visa/residency
