Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology Unit

About the Role 

Join our dynamic multidisciplinary team in the Interventional Radiology Unit (IRU), a specialist elective day procedure ward serving those patients requiring minimally invasive procedures. Located within the Radiology Department, our unit provides expert care for patients undergoing a wide range of cutting-edge Interventional Radiology and Cardiology procedures.

As an IRU nurse, you will provide high-quality, peri-procedural care while providing compassionate patient support. 

Your focus will be on:

  • Expert Preparation: Ensuring patients are clinically and psychologically ready for their procedures.
  • Acute Post-Procedural Care: Closely monitoring patient recovery to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Safe Transition to discharge: ensuring safe discharge at the end of the period of observation enabling patients to return home with confidence.

Rostered Shifts

Morning: 07:30 – 16:00

Afternoon: 11:30 – 20:00

About the Team/Service Location

About you 

You must have at least one year’s post registration experience in an acute setting preferably with some experience in Interventional Radiology/Cath Lab, Cardiac or Surgical nursing. We are looking for someone who is energetic, positive and highly motivated, who has the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
