Registered Nurse - Kenepuru Accident and Medical Clinic


Location: Kenepuru Hospital – Porirua 

Contract: Part Time 0.6 – 0.8 FTE Rostered and Rotating

About the Role 

We are looking for a part time Registered Nurse to work 0.6 – 0.8fte (24 -32 hours per week) to join our motivated and professional team in the Accident and Medical Clinic. If you like variety in your day and would enjoy working with an awesome team, we are keen to hear from you. 

Our shifts are rostered and rotating including weekends and night shifts. This will include a combination of 5 hour & 8-hour shifts within the roster.   The salary is NZNO MECA Step 2-7

About the Team/Service

The Accident and Medical Clinic is a busy 24-hour Urgent Care Clinic situated at Kenepuru Hospital.  We provide care to those who require urgent medical treatment and are unable to see their own GP.   The team consists of Urgent Care Physicians and trainees, local GPs, receptionists, Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses. The department sees approximately 37,000 presentations per year from a wide range of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.   

About you 

The ideal applicant would be: 

  • Enthusiastic dynamic and forward thinking. 
  • Have a strong patient care focus and able to deliver high quality of care for patients and whānau
  • Team player and have the ability to work independently
  • Have previous experience in: Urgent Care, Practice Nursing, Paediatric or Acute care settings. 
  • Have practical skills and knowledge in areas such as triage, wound care, plastering, cannulation and phlebotomy.
  • Experience working with Evolution would be an advantage
  • Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ)
  • A current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) and scope appropriate to place of work

We are keen to hear from nurses who are interested in completing post graduate study and advancing in clinical practice and have the potential of working as an independent health professional within the team.  A nurse with a    Professional Development portfolio at proficient or above would be desirable.
