Registered Nurse – Operating Theatre
Location: Wellington Regional Hospital
Contract: Permanent Part Time (0.9FTE) and Full Time

About the role
We are seeking energetic, positive and highly motivated nurses who have the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team to provide elective and emergency surgical services. You will provide evidence-based nursing care, be an active member of the nursing team in directing and delegating care and role model professional, educational and preceptorship behaviours.
About the Team/Service/ Location
There is a strong team focus in Theatre and our nursing staff work together and closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide a person/wānau centred approach. The benefits of a team nursing model are considerable, but include improved communication and coordination of care, enhanced support and teaching of clinical decision-making skills, increased patient care and satisfaction, and improved staff satisfaction and retention.
About you
You will be able to support and assess patients coming in for surgery and also scrub and circulate within the operating theatre of which experience is essential.
You must have:
- Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse.
- A current practising certificate
